The Foxy 1 is a very comfortable house boat moored at Chilila harbour (close to Binga). Sleeps 8 comfortably and up to 12 with mattresses

Accommodation

Four cabins

  • Top deck has a large double cabin
  • 1 x twin bedded cabin en-suite shower
  • 1 x double bedded cabin with en-suite toilet and separate shower
  • 1 x twin bedded cabin with separate toilet/shower combination.

  • Eight extra beds on top deck for those wishing to sleep under the African sky

    All cabins with fans and mosquito nets

    Boat Specifications

    Passengers: sleeps 8 comfortably with space for up to 12 passengers

    Length: 18 meters

    Width: 7 meters

    Engines: 2x40hp outboard engines

    Tender Boats: 2 x 16ft, with 15/30hp engines respectively for fishing and bird /game viewing

    Power: Generator and standby for all electrical requirements

    Crew (own quarters): captain, cook and deck-hand

    Moored: At Chillila harbour, 10 km's from Binga on the victoria falls side of Lake Kariba

    Boarding: Noon

    Disembark: 10h00

  • Front deck with plunge pool and loungers

  • Top deck with fully stocked bar and eating / lounge area

  • 3 toilets, 3 showers. Cold water shower on Bermuda deck

  • Kitchen: Fully equipped with ample fridge and freezer facilities

  • Splash pool

    2011 Foxy Houseboat Rates

    Self Catering

    US$ 540 per night for whole boat for up to 8 passengers - self catering
    US$25 extra per person per night for over 8 passengers up to a maximum of 12

    Included:
    15% Sales Tax, 2% Tourism Levy, the service of a Captain, Cook and a Deckhand, cutlery, crockery and linen. The use of the tender boats but not the fuel


    Lake Usage Fee:

    These rates change from time to time and the receipt must be kept with clients at all times as National Parks do spot checks on the lake

    Excluded:
    * Fuel: clients can bring their own fuel or prepay for fuel before arrival.
    * Drinks : clients to bring their own or buy in Chilila.
    * Fishing Equipment (please bring your own or arrange to hire )

    *The National Parks Board has a Lake Usage fee US$ 10 / ZAR 100 per person (valid for 7 days)
    *Fishing Licence Fee US$ 2 per person per day per person per week

    These fees are to be paid by you to the Parks Officer at the harbour where the boat is moored before boarding the boat

    * Parking Fees per vehicle
    * Launch Fees

    Average fuel consumption for a 3 night charter would be roughly 300L petrol



    General

    All kitchen utensils, bowls, crockery, glasses etc are on board. All bed linen, mosquito nets and towels are supplied

    1200l petrol tank and a sewage holdover tank under the boat between the pontoons

    To get to Senkwa takes 5 hrs where there are lots of elephant, buffalo, plains game , hippo and crocs to see, as well as good tiger and bream fishing

    Fishing: equipment limited, please bring own; bait supplied for catered option

    Ice, mineral water, wet and dry Kapenta are all available on request.
