Miombo Safari Camp Slideshow

Miombo Safari Camp is so close to the Hwange National Park boundary that game moves through their small private concession, with elephants, buffalo and on occasion the resident lion pride coming to drink at the waterhole in front of the camp

Some Information About Miombo Safari Camp Slideshow

Miombo safari Camp is one of the more reasonably priced lodges, with more flexible accommodation options than most of the camps in Hwange. They offer simple rondavels, elevated thatched rooms, the elevated tented rooms, and the newer Little Miombo tented suites which are at ground level. In the slideshow, you can see the different room types, and although they may not all look exactly the same, the design is still rustic and African themed.

In the slideshow, you can see the main communal part of the lodge with the main building sitting behind the swimming pool and gardens, different dining options (al fresco and in the dining room), and the lodge's waterhole. Although Miombo is nearer to the highway than to the entrance of Hwange National Park, since the park is not fenced, the animals are free to roam and occasionally visit the waterhole.

Our Opinion

Miombo Safari Camp has its advantages and disadvantages - it is the most accessible of all the safari camps in Hwange and is only a two hour drive from Victoria Falls or three hours from Bulawayo on good tar road. Its rates are cheaper than many of the other camps which makes it a perfect choice for people on a tighter budget. The trade-off is that it is not in a prime location and one has to travel into the Park for a full safari experience. We recommend this camp for clients on a tighter budget who are not concerned with the bells and whistles but to still want to get to see and experience Hwange. The camp does offer game drives in its own safari vehicles but this camp is ideal for self-drive tourists.

Customer Feedback

Brilliant service and so helpful
by Sally (Blisworth, U.K.)
I stumbled across Victoria Fall Guide by accident, but I am so glad I did. Tony and Boo were so helpful, advising us on the best activities for us as I have mobility issues, and arranging our itinerary and booking everything. I had no worries about using them, or sending a very large payment to someone I didn’t know. Everything they booked for us was so well organised, pick ups on time, knowledgeable and friendly guides, clean transport. We did the walking tour of the falls, the sunset dinner cruise, full day at Chobe, the team, lion encounter and the helicopter and every single one was faultless. We were also due to do the lunar rainbow but unfortunately it was cancelled, however boo arranged the refund immediately. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We are so grateful to them for making our special holiday even more so.
