Passport entry regulations to zimbabwe

On the British Foreign Office Travel Advice for Zimbabwe, it states that THREE free pages are needed in a passport for entry into Zim. I know this is a requirement for South Africa. Is this the situation in Zim as well? It's the first I've heard of it. I want to go to Zim, but only have 2 pages left, and can't get a new passport until mid January.

Hi

I have phoned the Zim Embassy in South Africa and they know nothing of this. I have spoken to the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) in Harare and they have stated that this IS definitely a standard requirement and that you could have problems when entering the country.

You could possibly talk your way around it as long as your passport is valid for six months.

I have tried to get hold of immigration today with no success just to see if they have any waivers, I will pursue this tomorrow and post my findings if I can get through to them.

In addition to my comment posted yesterday. I eventually got through to the Chief Immigration Officer in Harare.

They say that you need enough space for your visa and entry and departure stamps, so one page is required for the visa and no more that one page for stamps, she assured me that two blank pages would be sufficient and that you would not be turned away.
