Introduction

The Ponty Houseboat is a 16m monohull houseboat. She is moored in a beautiful harbour in Binga infront of the owners, Wayne and Cheryls home. Binga is a little rural town on the shore of the Zambezi River at Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe. The boat is powered by two 2.5litre Nissan Diesel engines. A generator provides 220Volts of electrical power to operate the fridge and 4freezers when the boat is out on the river.

The houseboat has two decks and accommodates 15 clients, but we have found 11 is a very comfortable number for the staff and for the clients to have a bed each in bedrooms. A lot of clients like to sleep on the top deck on mattresses under mosquito nets. Please let the staff know what you would like to do.

Fishing on Lake Kariba

It is suggested you time your visit to arrive late morning to enable reaching your destination in time to fish or game view in the late afternoon. If the weather is a bit rough the boat will only leave the harbour when it is safe to do so.

Fantastic Itinerary
by Graham & Janet (United Kingdom)
Dear Boo
We would like to offer our thanks for sorting a fantastic itinerary for our all too short visit to Vic Falls. The cruise on the Zambesi at sunset was a delight and the helicopter flight breathtaking! The pick ups were punctual and staff members were all very smiley, friendly, helpful and good company. The whole experience of the actual Falls and the town itself was outstanding.
We will return! Your company will be our first port of call. Many thanks for a very efficient service.
Best wishes
