About the Zimbabwe Situation

(Victoria Falls)

Friday, 25 January 2019

After a nail-biting week of uncertainty and anxiety mixed in with fake news and unbelievable events, we are pleased to say that the week starting 21st January has been a quiet one in Zimbabwe.

In Victoria Falls though, it has been quiet even through the violence that erupted in the capital Harare (over 9 hours away by road) and in Bulawayo (more than 4 hours way). Like many of the small towns in the country, tourist destinations Victoria Falls, Hwange, Kariba and Mana Pools did not experience violence or looting.

Access to the internet was restored on Sunday 20th January, and has been consistently operational since. The social media services that had been blocked were fully restored the following day.

Businesses that had been closed for that time period have reopened and with their usual business hours.

We would like to thank all who were and are checking up on us, and have sent in their kind words and good wishes. We appreciate all your support and understanding.
