Solar or other renewable energy a better option

I don't think that they should do this simply because they could use the money that they are planning to spend on this dam for other renewable energy sources such as solar. This is because if you make solar panels it won't affect wildlife as negatively as this is. Sure, you will still take up some space that animals could roam in, but it you really need more electricity, just do it with solar energy.
