Victoria Falls for two days in November
Thanks you for your wonderful site, it is by far the best we have come across in planning our trip!
We are two couples from Northern CA (San Rafael and Pebble Beach) on a 17 day private tour set up by a travel agency in the US. In Victoria Falls we want to see the Moonbow on Nov 5, weather permitting, and would like to do the Chobe day trip on Nov 6. We are staying at Ilala Lodge.
Our agency has much higher prices for activities than anyone else and we were hoping to book through you and ask your advice on a couple of issues.
Re Moonbow: Is it best to enter from Zimbabwe or Zambia? Should we have someone take us or just go on our own? What time does one go to see the Moonbow?
We are told there are no ATMs for cash in Victoria Falls but find some web pages that say there are ATMs. We have also been told that credit cards are only accepted at the larger hotels and a few restaurants. Is this so? Other than paying in advance for the above activities how much US$ do you think a person needs for two days?
Do you recommend the Chobe trip? Our travel agency thinks we might be disappointed after having been to Cheetah Plains at Kruger. We will also be going to Little Makalolo after Victoria Falls but we think it sound like a great trip and a chance to be on the water.
Any input would be greatly appreciated, we are so excited about coming to Africa!
