Victoria Falls Safari Lodge Refurbishment completed
(Victoria Falls 15.8.14)
New Safari Lodge Bedroom
To mark their 20th year, Victoria Falls Safari Lodge refurbished all 72 of their standard and deluxe rooms, and suites. In addition to the celebration, the rooms needed to match the beauty, style and sophistication of the new Safari Suites (opened in December 2013) and the classy Safari Club. The 3-4 month project had a US$1 million investment and is already receiving excellent reviews.
Already the rooms at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge have a private balcony with splendid views of the surrounding bushveld, but the installation of sliding glass doors makes the view from each room even more apparent. The glass doors together with the bright and light earthy, neutral colours introduced by Cornwall International Interiors in the rooms means that there is now more light in the rooms than before. Also installed in all the bedrooms are insect screens and mini bar where previously, only the deluxe rooms and suites had mini bars. Other facilities in the rooms include digital safes, air-conditioning and fans, mosquito nets, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, phones, hair dryers and extra length beds. In each of the 72 rooms, all of the bathrooms were retiled. The bathrooms in the suites still have their stand-alone bathtubs and now have an additional walk-in shower. However, in the standard and deluxe bathrooms, the tubs were removed and replaced by eco-friendly rainfall showers.
The upgrades took place by block by block with 6 blocks in total. By April 25th, 20 of the rooms had been completed and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge had guests check into the rooms. The refurbishment project reached completion at end of July 2014.
