Malcolm Minino

I have only just found out about this proposed project and I am shocked. I know Musi-oa-Tunya well, having visited the falls and the surrounding area several times. It is truly a Garden of Eden and we should preserve its pristine beauty. In the West, most of the Nature has been destroyed by so-called 'development' and it would be tragic to see Africa go the same way. I appreciate that people may need power in their homes, but I am sure an alternative source could be found. For example, Africa is rich in sunlight, so what about exploiting solar energy? Producing solar panels would also provide local employment projects for an indefinite period whereas building huge dams mainly benefits Western corporations.
