This Festive Season in Victoria Falls

Updated 30 December 2021

After the long restrictions and lockdowns and a very quiet 2020 Christmas and New Years, Victoria Falls is ready for a more upbeat festive season. And although the popular Victoria Falls Carnival will not be happening over the New Year’s period, there are a few local celebrations happening during this time.

Your New Year’s eve plans are sorted if you opt for the Groove Cruise – a two day party with amazing experiences. Your ticket will include:
• A Silent Sunset River Cruise
• A Vintage Steam Train Adventure
• Secret Parties
• Incredible Sunsets
• Epic Locations
• Daytime Activities
• Pool Parties
• Wellness, Movement & Yoga Experience
• Transfers & Shuttles
Not included is food and drinks, transport to and from Victoria Falls city, accommodation, visas and tests, and items of a personal nature. Tickets and info can be found on their event page.

If you’re not up for the Groove Cruise, the Mapopoma Festival in the city of Victoria Falls will be taking place on 31 December 2021 at the Kingdom Hotel. Artists confirmed so far for the festival are Zimbabwean and South African, and include the electrifying drum kings Djembe Monks, Maffia King, Holy Ten, and other artists and exciting DJ’s. Check out their Facebook page for ticket info and more.

Apart from the parties and cruises, The Boma Experience will be open daily from 20 December to 5 January, then go back to opening a few nights a week. The Boma is already fully booked from 24th to 26th December, so get your bookings in quick for the other dates by contacting us.
**Surcharge of US$10 pp on 24th, 25th, 26th, and 31st of December 2021**

A special Christmas Eve dinner will be hosted by Bayete Guest Lodge, with tantalizing menus for everyone. Dinner starts at 7pm on the 24th of December, with adults paying $30 and kids $15 per person. There are limited spots, so contact them via email (res@bayeteguestlodge.com) to make a booking.

More events and activities will be added in the coming weeks, so be sure to check out our page on What is On in Victoria Falls for other shindigs and merrymaking.
