Exciting New Cruises Coming to Victoria Falls

Lunch cruises on the Zambezi

6 March 2019

Zambezi River cruises have been offered in Victoria Falls and Livingstone for years now, but the variety of river cruises and range has changed greatly. This year, some new concepts in the area will be introduced on the Zimbabwe side of the river, as well as the return of a smashing river adventure!

Lunch Cruise
While sunset cruises are the most popular here, Victoria Falls river cruises also include early morning Breakfast and mid-day Lunch time slots. Until now, Zambezi Explorer and the Ra-Ikane have dominated the lunch time trips, and joining them is Wild Horizons.

Sunset and Dinner
The popular sunset cruises with dinner will have yet another supplier - Starting in July, Wild Horizons will also offer sundowners, exciting cocktails, wine and premium spirits, and a 3-course menu on the Zambezi River.

Sailing the Zambezi
A new operator to Victoria Falls will commence dhow cruises on the Zambezi River. The Zambezi Truth (launch date still to be announced), offers trips on a traditional East African dhow. These are the first of their kind in Victoria Falls, and in Zimbabwe as well. Breakfast, mid-morning and sunset cruises will be available at a date to be announced.

Down Below
One of the newest vessels in Victoria Falls is the Shearwater jetboat. Of all the cruises in the area, this is the most action-packed. A walk down the gorge to the Zambezi River below the Victoria Falls is already an activity in itself. After getting into the boat, guests are whizzed upstream and downstream, enjoying speed and the shear awesomeness of the gorges. This activity is great for those who are not keen on grade 5 rapid whitewater rafting, but want to experience an exhilarating ride and the feeling of being down in the gorge.

As these trips are fairly new, we will be adding information about them as the experiences become available.
