The Wallow Lodge is Now Open

Wild Horizons have recently opened their newest addition to their luxury lodge portfolio (which includes The Elephant Camp and Old Drift Lodge) - The Wallow Lodge. The Wallow have already received their first guests, and their rates are quite decent for fully inclusive stays.

Outside of the Victoria Falls city limits is the Masuwe River, a triburary of the Zambezi River which it meets at the Batoka gorge about 9kms downstream from the Victoria Falls. The Wallow Lodge is situated right by the Masuwe on a private concession in the Victoria Falls National Park. There, guests can enjoy the peace and quiet of the wilderness, with views of the Masuwe river, the Batoka gorge (a 5 minute drive from the lodge), and also the spray of the Victoria Falls in the distance.

It's prestine wilderness out there, far from the town centre yet close enough to enjoy some of the awesome Victoria Falls activities. The drive from the lodge to Victoria Falls city centre is just 20 minutes, and there is a shuttle to take guests into town and back, so that they can experience the activities that Victoria Falls has to offer. At the lodge itself, guests get a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, a game drive in the wildlife sanctuary, enjoy sundowners by the gorge, and the chance to visit the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust.

Contruction of the lodge was almost complete when the pandemic hit and travel had to be shut down. When it was completed, they still had to wait for things to get better before finally opening their doors in September 2021.

Facilities at The Wallow include a private viewing deck on each of the 16 air-conditioned tented rooms, spacious lounge and dining area at the main lodge, a fully stocked bar, curio shop, library, and on the deck a fire pit and the swimming pool.
