Lion Encounter

Meet the resident lion pride and experience a bit of an adrenaline rush in this Lion Encounter

Prepare to have a lion experience of a lifetime. While the lion walk activity was ceased at of the end of 2020, the operator has come up with a new lion encounter activity that educates and excites! It's two activities in one, beginning with an exhilarating Feast of the Beasts, followed by a drive through the concession, seeing the resident pride doing what they do. We do recommend that you take a camera to capture this once in a lifetime experience.

The Experience

Feast of the Beasts

On arrival, you'll drive through the enclosure past some of the lions. There will be a safety briefing and an introduction on what Wildlife Encounter is all about, and the importance of lion and human peaceful cohabitation. You will be in a secure hide where you will be able to see the lions at eye level, and from a safe distance. Prepare yourself for a bit of an adrenaline rush. Fresh food will be placed in position, and then the large male lions are released. Watch the 'beasts' charge and see how powerful these big cats are, as close as possible.

Into the Pride

The second part of the activity is an opportunity to witness the life of a lion pride. This experience takes you on a scenic drive through a 25 acre enclosure strategically placed within the teak forest housing a pride of 5 lions. An exquisite male and 4 beautiful females. From the safety of a secure safari vehicle, enjoy guaranteed sightings of our pride, with incredible photo opportunities as they go about their daily lion lives. As always, not only do these activities offer amazing experiences, but also contribute financially to the continued conservation and community development work.

Customer Feedback

Brilliant service and so helpful
by Sally (Blisworth, U.K.)
I stumbled across Victoria Fall Guide by accident, but I am so glad I did. Tony and Boo were so helpful, advising us on the best activities for us as I have mobility issues, and arranging our itinerary and booking everything. I had no worries about using them, or sending a very large payment to someone I didn’t know. Everything they booked for us was so well organised, pick ups on time, knowledgeable and friendly guides, clean transport. We did the walking tour of the falls, the sunset dinner cruise, full day at Chobe, the team, lion encounter and the helicopter and every single one was faultless. We were also due to do the lunar rainbow but unfortunately it was cancelled, however boo arranged the refund immediately. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We are so grateful to them for making our special holiday even more so.
