Introduction

Kariba Safari Lodge is located on a hillside, along the northern shore of Lake Kariba, just a 20- to 30-minute drive from Kariba Airport. The lodge can also be access from Harare via a 370km or 5 hour drive.

It's elevated position on a mountainside gives guests sweeping views over the water, as well as the islands in the eastern basin of the lake. From each of the rooms, you get a panoramic view of the vista. Because of the way the lodge is built on the hillside, it is advised that guests who may struggle with steep inclines stay closer to the main reception area.

In the main lodge area, an open aired dining area invites meals beneath the African sky, with an enclosed option for the rainy season. Comfortable couches offer a space for relaxation as well as easy access to the pool bar around the corner. A large swimming pool encourages time out on the loungers as well as a dip in the cool waters as a reprieve from the Kariba heat. A fire pit with cushioned seats is the perfect spot to sit and reflect on the adventures of the day.

Being set above Lake Kariba on a forested hillside, the views are spectacular from the 9 open-fronted en suite rooms, as well as from the private patios of our 8 suites. Every room has twin beds that convert into king-size doubles, and each suite can sleep 4 guests in king-size double beds and on 2 Indian day beds. Each room has a coffee station, as well as a minibar. Private, spacious and scenic, our rooms encourage distant daydreaming, witnessing the wild while encased in comfort.

Kariba Safari Lodge operates completely off the country's main electricity grid, using 100% renewable solar energy systems, with power being generated by solar panels. Water at the lodge is supplied from Lake Kariba and treated through water filters for showering. Drinking water is treated through reverse osmosis. The surrounding villages supply fresh produce to the lodge where possible. This facilitates empowering the local farmers and support the villages in a continuous and sustainable way. They also have their own aquaponics veggie and herb garden.

Customer Feedback

Brilliant service and so helpful
by Sally (Blisworth, U.K.)
I stumbled across Victoria Fall Guide by accident, but I am so glad I did. Tony and Boo were so helpful, advising us on the best activities for us as I have mobility issues, and arranging our itinerary and booking everything. I had no worries about using them, or sending a very large payment to someone I didn’t know. Everything they booked for us was so well organised, pick ups on time, knowledgeable and friendly guides, clean transport. We did the walking tour of the falls, the sunset dinner cruise, full day at Chobe, the team, lion encounter and the helicopter and every single one was faultless. We were also due to do the lunar rainbow but unfortunately it was cancelled, however boo arranged the refund immediately. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone. We are so grateful to them for making our special holiday even more so.
