Some Information About Matetsi Lodge Slideshow

Matetsi River Lodge is one of the high-end luxury safari lodges within an hours' drive from one of the world's natural seven wonders - the Victoria Falls. It is located about 50kms upstream along the famous Zambezi River, offering guests beautiful private views of the river from their verandas or the main guest lodge. In the slideshow, you can see the distance of the luxury suites from the banks of the Zambezi, and the kind of views you can expect from the comfort of your private veranda's seats or the private plunge pool.

The guest suites at Matetsi were well thought out, spacious, and offer en-suite bathrooms with washbasins, flush toilet, a deep bathtub, indoor as well as outdoor showers. In the slideshow, you can see the large roomy feeling of the suites, which are also available in a family unit that can be occupied by up to 2 adults and 2 children.

In the main section of the lodge, you can see all the facilities that are available such as the library and dining areas, bar and lounge.

Our Opinion

This luxury soft-safari option is on a huge private concession accessible only to Matetsi Lodge guest, with awesome views of the Zambezi River. This is a laid back safari option for those wanting to stay near the Victoria Falls and still enjoy an up-market bush experience.

I totally love this private game concession, it has a great variety of game and excellent bird-watching (we saw an Allen’s Gallinule on our last visit, very rare and exciting in these parts). The open plains and acacia woodland are quintessential Africa, plus its location close to Victoria Falls makes it an ideal place to base oneself outside the Falls whilst enjoying magnificent surroundings and a soft safari. But it’s a soft safari and must not be confused with a safari on a premiere wildlife concession such as in Hwange National Park. This large lodge is ultimate luxury and there is nothing more that one could really want for, from the private plunge pools to the delicious meals, Matetsi River Lodge has it all.

This lodge is ideal for high-end travellers wanting a beautiful lodge within easy striking distance of Victoria Falls. It’s for those wanting to unwind, indulge and be pampered whilst enjoying a magnificent setting and a soft safari.
