Matetsi Water Lodge situated just 40 kilometres upstream from the magnificent Victoria Falls, it is renowned for it sophisticated accommodation and fantastic location on the Zambezi River This Zimbabwe Safari Lodge is situated in the largest private wildlife concession in Zimbabwe and extends over 45 000 hectares of pristine African wilderness. You can spend the day relaxing around your own plunge pool, or you can embark on an African experience of outstanding game viewing and bird watching opportunities. Often seeing elephants, hippopotamus and large buffalo herds, either on boat cruises, canoeing or game driving from the camp. Day and night game drives are offered, as well as guided nature walks. One can also experience the thrill of catching a famous
tiger fish.
Lodges and accommodationMatetsi Water Lodge is a group of three romantic lodges West Water, North Water and East Water. It has a sophisticated synthesis of teak, slate and thatch which is softened with blue fabrics and evocative of ancient Zimbabwe and the myths of the great Zambezi. They are each set on the riverbank under a canopy of lush riverine trees. Each Matetsi Game lodge is comprised of six private suites with doors that open to plunge pools and decks right onto the Zambezi River.
The suites are equipped with: • air conditioning The design is such that each lodge is ensured privacy and intimacy with open sided, thatched areas consisting of dining and sitting areas with a large fire place.
Dining Delicious Pan-African cuisine is served on the intimate riverside dining decks under the African sky or in a surprise setting in Matetsi's pristine wilderness. How to get there International flights to Victoria Falls Airport. Transfers from Victoria Falls Airport, Town and Kasane border to Matetsi are available at an additional charge. Driving time from Victoria Falls town and the Botswana border to the lodge is approximately 45 minutes and from the airport to the lodge about one hour. Self-drive guests are directed to a central meeting point, where they are collected by land rovers for the short drive to the lodge.
This is certainly one of the very high class Victoria falls lodges, with a hefty
price tag to match.
